Police check the driving ability of road users on the B2 near Leipzig. The focus is particularly on alcohol and drugs, the police announced. Since Thursday morning, numerous officers have been on duty between the Südkreuz junction and the Markkleeberg exit, and the checks are expected to continue until 4pm. According to a spokeswoman, four blood samples had been taken by midday on Thursday. In addition, two drivers were found to be driving without a license and at least two further violations for driving without compulsory insurance and forgery of documents. Traffic was temporarily restricted due to the checks.
