A man died in a serious accident on the Autobahn 17 near Dresden on Wednesday night. All lanes are closed in the direction of Dresden between the Altfranken tunnel and the Gorbitz exit due to the rescue and clean-up work, according to the police this morning.
At around 1:45 a.m., a truck veered off the road to the right for reasons as yet unexplained. The articulated lorry then hit a car that was presumably parked on the hard shoulder due to a breakdown. According to the police, there were five people in the car. One man died in the accident and the four other passengers were seriously injured. The truck driver was reportedly uninjured.
