The French company Gillot is warning against the consumption of its Camembert, which can lead to feverish gastrointestinal disorders if consumed due to contamination with undesirable bacteria. It is therefore recalling the product, as reported by the portal "lebensmittelwarnung.de".
The product in question is "Camembert de Normandie, 250 grams", which is sold in round wooden packaging. Batch number 031241 with the best-before dates 08.04. and 12.04.2026 is affected. The Camembert was sold via the company Fromi in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Hamburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony and Thuringia.
The gastrointestinal disorders can reportedly occur two to seven days after consuming the product, possibly leading to bleeding. Severe kidney complications are also possible, especially in children. People who have consumed the product and suffer from the symptoms described are asked to consult their doctor and advise them not to consume the product.
