The Italian manufacturer Sicily Food is recalling "Zanzibar Deluxe Tuna Carpaccio, 100g". The product was sold at Lidl stores in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia. Packs with the consumption dates 27.12.2025, 28.12.2025 and 29.12.2025 are affected.
The reason is bacteria that have been detected in the product. "Listeria monocytogenes" can cause severe stomach and intestinal illnesses as well as symptoms similar to a flu-like infection. Infants, small children, pregnant women, the elderly and sick people can develop serious illnesses. Customers should therefore not consume the affected carpaccio. They can return it to any Lidl store and will be refunded the purchase price even without presenting the receipt.
