Am I allowed to store petrol and diesel on my property?
Yes, but there are rules. A look at the Saxon Garage Ordinance clarifies this. It states that flammable substances may not be stored in medium-sized and large garages outside of motor vehicles. "In small garages, up to 200 liters of diesel fuel and up to 20 liters of petrol may be stored in tightly sealed, unbreakable containers." Small garages in Saxony have a usable area of up to 100 square meters, medium-sized garages between 100 and 1000 square meters and large garages of more than 1000 square meters.
