Bundesliga soccer club RB Leipzig has extended the contract with Kevin Kampl as expected. The 33-year-old signed a new working paper on Thursday until 2026. The midfielder had moved to Leipzig from Leverkusen in 2017 and is considered an undisputed regular again this season. In addition to Kampl, Yussuf Poulsen and Lukas Klostermann, whose contracts expire next summer, are also expected to extend.
"Kevin Kampl is one of our most important players. On the one hand, with his special athletic qualities and his style of play. On the other hand with his role and position in the team and in the entire club," said sports director Rouven Schröder. Therefore, he said, it was the logical decision for both sides to continue until 2026 what Kampl has played a decisive role in shaping for more than six years.
