Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig has been voted "Rookie of the Season" in the Bundesliga. The 19-year-old winger beat Luka Vuskovic from Hamburger SV and Leverkusen's Ibrahim Maza in a vote by experts and fans, as announced by the German Football League (DFL).
The Ivory Coast attacker succeeds Michael Olise of Bayern Munich, who won the title in the 2024/2025 season. The trophy was presented by former Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich professional Claudio Pizarro.
Diomande, who is in the Ivory Coast's World Cup squad, contributed twelve goals and eight assists for the third-placed team in his first season. The trio of Diomande, Vuskovic and Maza were voted Rookie of the Month from September 2025 to April 2026.
