Barely arrived, already injured: Suleman Sani may miss six weeks at RB Leipzig. The talented attacking player injured himself in training. A regular player is also still missing.

RB Leipzig will be without new signing Suleman Sani for several weeks. The 19-year-old attacking player injured his ankle in training and will miss four to six weeks for the Bundesliga club. An operation is not planned for the time being.

"He got stuck in the turf when he scored a goal," said coach Ole Werner about Sani's injury. The teenager was only recently signed from Slovakian club AS Trencin. Sani has not yet been in the squad and is to be slowly introduced to the Bundesliga level.

Lukeba injured, Baumgartner suspended

Leipzig will also be without Castello Lukeba against FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky). The central defender is still struggling with a capsule irritation in his knee and has already missed the games in Heidenheim and at St. Pauli. El Chadaille Bitshiabu is likely to start at left-back in Lukeba's place.

Replacing Christoph Baumgartner will be much more difficult. The Austrian international is Leipzig's top scorer with ten goals in all competitions, but will miss the Mainz game due to a yellow card suspension. Leipzig do not have a player with the same profile in their squad.
