Maruyama versus Prevc is currently the duel at the top of the women's ski jumping World Cup. The German team is strong as a team, but not good enough for the podium.

The German ski jumpers have to wait for their first podium finish at their home World Cup event in Klingenthal and are currently unable to keep up with the absolute world elite. On Saturday, Selina Freitag finished fourth after jumps of 126 and 131 meters. Agnes Reisch (5th) and Katharina Schmid (13th) completed a decent team result for the team of national coach Heinz Kuttin.

The trio is currently unable to get past Japan's Nozomi Maruyama and Slovenia's Nika Prevc. This time Prevc (135 and 138 meters) won just ahead of Maruyama (134 and 135 meters), on Friday Maruyama had won ahead of Prevc.

The podium was completed in the second competition by Anna Odine Ström from Norway. On Sunday, only one men's World Cup competition will take place in Klingenthal.

First Engelberg, then Two-Nights-Tour

Before the Two-Nights-Tour on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, the women have a guest appearance in Engelberg in Switzerland next week. This is where the ski jumpers traditionally hold their last World Cup before the short Christmas break.

The Two Nights Tour with competitions in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf will be held for the last time in this form. From next winter, there will be a Four Hills Tournament for women. The men will then be entering their 75th edition.
