Union Berlin just about managed to stay in the league. Everything should be better in the new season. The first test opponent has now been decided.

1. FC Union Berlin will play its first test match ahead of the upcoming Bundesliga season in Leipzig. The first-division club will host BSG Chemie Leipzig on July 6, the club announced on Wednesday. Kick-off at the Alfred-Kunze-Sportpark is at 3.30 pm. Five days before the clash with the regional league side, Berlin will begin their preparations.
