The Bundesliga handball players of Thüringer HC will have to cope with a painful departure next summer. Top scorer Johanna Reichert is leaving the THC and moving to Romanian top club Gloria Bistrita, the club announced. "When your own child leaves home, it always hurts and we would have loved to have accompanied JoJo for a while. Her development makes us all mega proud and the last big titles will always be closely associated with her name," said THC coach Herbert Müller.
Missing the World Cup due to foot injury
The 23-year-old Austrian international, who has worn the THC jersey since 2021, was not only top scorer in the last Bundesliga season, but also player of the season in the Women's Handball Bundesliga (HBF). She was also the top scorer in the EHF European League. She has played 55 international matches for Austria's national team and scored 147 goals. The backcourt player missed out on the World Championship due to a foot injury.
