The wintry conditions are also causing cancellations on matchday 22 of the Regional Football League North East. Seven of the nine matches scheduled for the coming weekend have already been canceled. In contrast, Chemnitzer FC's 60th anniversary match against league leaders Lok Leipzig on Sunday (4:00 pm) will take place, as the club's office assured. Over 7,000 tickets have already been sold for the match, including the festive supporting program.
In contrast, the winter break has been extended for most of the fourth-division clubs. The three matches scheduled for Friday between Greifswalder FC and Babelsberg 03 have been canceled, as have BFC Dynamo - Magdeburg II and FC Eilenburg - ZFC Meuselwitz.
The games scheduled for Saturday between Rot-Weiß Erfurt - VSG Altglienicke, Chemie Leipzig - BFC Preußen and FSV Luckenwalde - Hallescher FC have also already been called off. The match between FSV Zwickau and Hertha BSC II is still open. On the other hand, Sunday's match between Hertha Zehlendorf and Carl Zeiss Jena has also already been canceled.
