RB Leipzig will undergo another endurance test today (18:00/ServusTV). One week before the start of the season with the DFB Cup match at Rot Weiss Essen, the Saxon Bundesliga club will face French champions Paris Saint-Germain. The match in Leipzig's Red Bull Arena has been agreed for years, but has only now come to fruition.
It remains to be seen whether Xavi Simons, who was loaned out by PSG again on Tuesday, will play against his home club. Like German internationals David Raum and Benjamin Henrichs, the Dutchman has only recently started training. "If the coach decides that I should play, I would be happy. But I know it's a friendly, we have to build this up carefully," Simons had said.
