The Chemnitz Bundesliga basketball team confirms its strong early form against Ludwigsburg. After a furious first half, they are only briefly in trouble.

The Niners Chemnitz basketball team has extended its run of success in the German league. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore defeated MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg by a clear 111:88 (54:34) in front of 4,118 spectators on Friday evening. Center Amadou Sow was the Niners' best scorer in their third league victory in succession with 28 points.

Two days after their debut victory in the Eurocup, Chemnitz needed a little time to get going, but then put its stamp on the game with its high tempo. Sow in particular shone, contributing eleven points to lead 31:22 after ten minutes. In the second quarter, the home side's fast build-up player Nike Sibande then turned on the heat. Chemnitz's lead grew to 20 points by the break, also because Ludwigsburg only converted one of its 20 three-point attempts in the first half.

After the break, the Niners stretched their lead to 67:42 (26th minute), but then became too careless in defense and allowed Ludwigsburg to close the gap to 69:57 (29th minute). However, the playful home side quickly regained its concentration and pulled 88:66 (34') ahead in the final quarter.
