RB Leipzig have found what they were looking for in Slovakia in their search for offensive reinforcements. The Bundesliga club is about to sign the Nigerian Suleiman Sani. The 19-year-old currently plays for AS Trencin and is expected to cost a transfer fee of five million euros. Sky and "Kicker" had reported on the interest of the Saxons.
The Bundesliga third-placed team has already reached an agreement with the player. An agreement has yet to be reached with his club. Sani's contract expires in the summer, and Leverkusen and Frankfurt are also said to have been interested in signing him from the Bundesliga.
Three goals, two assists
Sani has made 12 league appearances for Trencin this season. He has scored three goals and contributed two assists. However, the teenager has also been sent off twice.
Leipzig would not only be looking ahead to the summer with the transfer, but would also be pushing ahead with the restructuring of their system. Last summer, two similarly talented wingers were acquired in the form of high-flyers Yan Diomande and Johan Bakayoko. Norwegian Antonio Nusa and Frenchman Tidiam Gomis are also available on the wing.
