The Eisbären want their third title in a row. The newly promoted team from Saxony has a big task right at the start.

Defending champions Eisbären Berlin and the newly promoted Dresdner Eislöwen open the new season of the German Ice Hockey League. On September 9 (7:30 p.m.), the capital city team will host the Saxons in their home arena at Ostbahnhof, as announced by the Eisbären. The Berliners, who have just extended their contract with successful coach Serge Aubin, want to secure their third championship in a row. For DEL2 title holders Dresden, it will probably only be a question of staying in the league. The DEL will publish the rest of the schedule on Monday.
