In Ulm, the goalkeeper was in the starting eleven, but was out after less than half an hour. The diagnosis is frustrating.

This was certainly not how Max Uhlig had imagined his season debut in goal for third division side FC Erzgebirge Aue. In the 1-0 defeat at SSV Ulm, the 18-year-old started in goal for the indisposed captain Martin Männel, but it was over after 25 minutes. Uhlig had to be substituted with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, as an MRI scan has now revealed. Although an operation is not necessary, the keeper will be out for weeks, possibly even months, FC Erzgebirge announced.

Left-back Toma Palic has been training with the Erzgebirge for an initial week since Tuesday. The 23-year-old is currently under contract with NK Dubrava Zagreb in Croatia.
