FC Erzgebirge Aue also lost their second away game of the season. The Saxons lost 1:4 (0:2) at 1. FC Saarbrücken. Kai Brünker put the hosts ahead in the 33rd minute before Florian Pick increased the lead just 84 seconds later. Maximilian Schmid (77') then ensured Aue's goal. However, the hosts responded with another 3:1 through Pick (86'), before Rodney Elongo-Yombo (88') marked the final score. Aue thus dropped to 14th place. Saarbrücken climbed to fourth place in the 3rd division.
Aue 2-0 down in 84 seconds
After their first win of the new third division season against newly promoted Havelse, coach Jens Härtel's team got off to a good start. Thanks to Julian Günther-Schmidt (12'), they scored their first goal with a shot from distance. The duel between the two neighbors in the table, who had each started the season with a win, a draw and a defeat, was on an equal footing for half an hour. It was a mega blunder by Aue's Ryan Malone, who played the ball to his opponent near the penalty area, that gave FCS the lead: Brünker headed in a cross from Pick (33'). Exactly 84 seconds later, Pick himself scored from twelve meters out on the half-right to make it 2-0.
Saarbrücken's second double strike
Aue piled on the pressure after the break, but were unable to reward themselves for the time being. Saarbrücken clearly had the better offensive disposition. Thanks to Schmid (77'), Aue still managed to score the equalizer when he converted a long ball half-right in the penalty area. But the hosts went one better with their second double strike: Pick (86) increased the lead to 3:1 before setting up Elongo-Yombo, who marked the final score two minutes later.
