The insolvent care group Argentum also has several facilities in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. Despite an investor for parts of the care group, the future of several facilities remains open.

The future of some care facilities in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt is still uncertain for the insolvent care group Argentum. Although a buyer has been found as part of an intensive investor process, a spokesperson for the care group announced that the takeover only applies to some of the facilities.

Argentum operates more than 40 retirement and care facilities across Germany, four of which are in Saxony-Anhalt and seven in Saxony. In the spring, the group justified its financial problems with major challenges in the care sector, such as a shortage of skilled workers, rising operating costs, bureaucratic hurdles and insufficient funding.

A total of around 2,800 people work for the care group, according to the company. Around 3,100 people in need of care and support are cared for in the facilities.

At least one facility will be closing soon

According to the spokesperson, the takeover by the investor will benefit 22 facilities, which are running the insolvency in self-administration. As the legal and economic requirements were not met for some of the facilities, regular insolvency proceedings had been applied for. These are still ongoing.

The insolvency administrator of the Jenny Marx nursing home in Stendal announced that the search for investors was continuing. The current operation is continuing and can cover the running costs. At the same time, the district of Stendal has put the property and land up for sale. According to the district, the current market value is around six million euros.

In contrast, the retirement home in Heyrothsberge north of Magdeburg will close at the end of October. It will be closed, the company group announced. Around 60 employees and 63 residents are currently being distributed to other facilities.
