Care in a home has once again become more expensive in Saxony: In the first year, an average of 2,854 euros per month must be paid out of pocket, last year it was 190 euros less. In a nationwide comparison, Saxony is below the average, which is 3,108 euros. This is shown by data from the Association of Substitute Health Insurance Funds, which is available to the German Press Agency. The costs are made up of three components: Costs for care, for investments and for accommodation and meals. The subsidies from the care insurance funds are already included.
In a comparison of the federal states, care in the first year in a home was most expensive in Bremen on July 1 at an average of 3,449 euros per month and in North Rhine-Westphalia at 3,427 euros. Nationwide, the lowest monthly costs in the first year in a care home were now in Saxony-Anhalt at 2,595 euros and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at 2,752 euros.
