The Leipzig district court is attacked with black paint and stones. An anonymous letter on the internet links the attack to Maja T., who is imprisoned in Hungary.

Unknown perpetrators have smeared large areas of the façade of the Leipzig district court with black paint. In addition, the entrance door was damaged with stones thrown during the night, said a spokeswoman for Leipzig police headquarters.

An anonymous letter of confession was published on the internet. In it, the crime is linked to the imprisonment of the non-binary person Maja T. in Hungary. "Maja must go back!", the letter reads.

T. is on trial in Budapest for alleged bodily harm in the course of protests against right-wing extremists in February 2023. The person was arrested in Germany and extradited to Hungary in 2024. The Federal Constitutional Court had prohibited this in an emergency ruling, but the decision reached the authorities a few minutes too late.
