On Friday, the heads of government of the eastern German states will meet in Berlin for the Eastern Minister Presidents' Conference. They want to discuss how to successfully secure skilled workers. Federal Minister of Labor Hubertus Heil (SPD) and the Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Germany, Carsten Schneider (SPD), are also expected to attend the meeting. Also on the agenda are the expansion of the railroad infrastructure and nationwide medical care. The results of the consultations will be presented at a press conference in the afternoon (3 p.m.).
