If you want to take a spontaneous vacation in Saxony during the autumn vacations, you may be in luck when looking for accommodation. According to the state tourism association, there is still free capacity for overnight guests, especially during the week.

Holidaymakers are paying more attention to prices and quality when booking this year. Vacation apartments and vacation homes are currently in particularly high demand. Short-term bookings dominate, so Saxony's tourism experts are hoping for good weather.

Many free beds in Upper Lusatia and the Ore Mountains

Many free beds can still be found in Upper Lusatia in particular. According to the information, there are still large booking gaps in many places, especially in the second week of the vacation until October 19. In the wellness sector, on the other hand, the offers are already largely full. There are various vacation highlights for families in the region, such as the Krabat Week, which lasts until Sunday, or the Scary Weeks in the Saurierpark from next Monday.

Many businesses in the Ore Mountains also have free capacity. Here, too, there are special offers for children. For example, the Days of Traditional Crafts also offer hands-on activities for children and an interactive discovery tour awaits in the Greifenstein region.

Colourful vacation program in Vogtland and Dresden

In Vogtland, the booking situation at the businesses is good to satisfactory. According to the information, suitable offers can still be found at short notice. In the region, the Perlmutter Adventure Museum in Adorf and the Vogtlandarena with a ski jumping event on the last vacation weekend are among those still waiting for guests.

There is also still capacity available in the state capital of Dresden and the surrounding region. Adventure offers such as Saxony's largest pumpkin exhibition in Oskarshausen or a city tour with "Sydney, the city kangaroo" offer a varied program.

Hiking season in Saxon Switzerland

Saxon Switzerland reports a good booking situation. Nevertheless, according to the local tourism association, there are still rooms available in all categories "during the best hiking season". Visitors can take a trip along the popular Caspar David Friedrich Trail, for example.

In Chemnitz, where the Capital of Culture year is entering its final spurt with numerous events, and the surrounding region, beds are already well booked, but spontaneous guests can still be accommodated. There are numerous family offers in castles and museums there in the fall, including glowworm tours at Mildenstein Castle.

There is a very high number of inquiries in Leipzig. The city's tourist information office is also expecting many more spontaneous bookings. Highlights for guests during the vacations include an exhibition on street artist Banksy and the Leipzig Jazz Days.
