The plus temperatures are causing a thaw in the mountains. The ski resorts are coping well with this at the moment. The German Weather Service warns of freezing rain.

The milder weather is not currently causing any problems for the ski resorts in central Germany. "We still have enough artificial snow on the slopes, skiing is still possible here without any restrictions," said Manuel Püschel from the Altenberg ski and toboggan arena. This is also the case in Eibenstock. The Ski-Arena Eibenstock describes the slope conditions there as "good".

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there are no large amounts of snow in sight. On the Fichtelberg, a light thaw set in with temperatures around 0 degrees. However, a shower could bring two to three centimetres of fresh snow by Wednesday evening. Helga Scheef from the DWD then warns of freezing rain and the risk of black ice in the Ore Mountains.
