Anyone who likes the hazelnut nougat crème Nudossi should take a close look: Jars have been recalled due to the risk of salmonella. What those affected need to know now.

Sächsische und Dresdner Back- und Süßwaren GmbH is recalling certain batches of hazelnut nougat crème Nudossi (300 grams). The product in question contains 36 percent hazelnuts without palm oil (GTIN 4018087009331), according to the company. Jars with a best-before date between August 1 and September 30, 2026, which were distributed in several federal states, are affected.

According to the information, a positive test result for salmonella was found in individual batches as part of self-monitoring and further investigations. The responsible authorities are closely involved in the next steps, it said. According to the current status, there are many indications that a contaminated raw material was the trigger.

Do not consume the products

Consumers are asked not to consume the products and to dispose of them. "There are no plans to return them to retailers." For a refund, it is sufficient to send a photo of the product with the best-before date by email to kundenservice@vadossi.de and provide the account details.

Salmonella illness can cause various symptoms, which typically become noticeable some time after infection, such as sudden diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, mild fever and headaches.

For whom can salmonella illness be dangerous?

For certain groups of people, salmonella illness can be more dangerous and lead to more severe courses of the disease, for example for infants, small children, older people or pregnant women. People who have consumed the food and develop severe or persistent symptoms should see a doctor and report a possible salmonella infection.

According to the company, there has never been such an incident in the company's history. The company is now reviewing the processes in incoming goods, suppliers and quality assurance with external advice, it said.
