Winter services on freeways are well prepared

The winter services in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia believe they are well prepared for traffic on the freeways ahead of the predicted storm. "We have planned everything we can for tomorrow," said a spokeswoman for Autobahn GmbH. In total, more than 700 employees are on standby in the three federal states to provide winter services around the clock if necessary. Autobahn GmbH is responsible for more than 3,000 kilometers of road.

Despite all the preparations, Autobahn GmbH is also appealing to motorists to drive more carefully. Some road users are no longer as careful as they used to be due to the mild winters of recent years. According to the spokesperson, they get into dangerous situations more quickly in snowy conditions. It is therefore important to drive at an appropriate speed, adopt an appropriate driving style and, above all, use winter tires.
