After restrictions since the weekend, train traffic via Halle is running normally again. The reason for the closures was work at the Halle rail junction.

Just in time for the start of the Leipzig Book Fair, rail travelers can once again travel via Halle (Saale) main station: Train services there have been open again since the start of operations (04:00). According to a Deutsche Bahn spokeswoman, the construction work went according to plan and without complications. There have been no complaints. Further major construction work around the station is not planned for the time being.

Since Saturday, there have been considerable restrictions due to work at the Halle railroad junction. Regional and long-distance trains were rerouted and the main station was completely closed to long-distance traffic at times. The reason for the closures was work to switch off old signal boxes and replace them with modern technology.
