For around 300,000 drivers in the Bautzen region and in Saxon Switzerland, a higher and therefore worse regional class will apply to motor third party liability insurance in future. This could make car insurance more expensive there. In the other eleven registration districts in Saxony, the classification will remain the same. This was announced by the German Insurance Association (GDV) in Berlin.
There are even more changes in comprehensive insurance. For partial casco, 9 out of 13 registration districts slipped into more favorable regional classes. Only in Dresden, the city and district of Leipzig and the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge will everything remain the same. Görlitz, Mittelsachsen and Zwickau are classified more favorably for comprehensive cover, while the rest remain unchanged.
