New rail connections from Berlin and Leipzig to Poland

From mid-December, more trains will be running from Leipzig and Berlin to Poland. This was announced by Deutsche Bahn and PKP Intercity, a subsidiary of Polish state railroads.

As of December 14, there will be a new connection between Leipzig, Wroclaw and Krakow with two trains per day and direction. Another daily connection is to be established between Warsaw and Berlin in future. There will then be a total of seven pairs of trains on the route every two hours.

New night trains also planned

This means that passengers will have 17 direct connections between Germany and Poland instead of the previous 11 (outward and return journeys). The companies say they are responding to the significant increase in demand for travel connections between the two countries.

According to the rail companies, a new night train is also planned between Berlin and Przemysl on the Polish-Ukrainian border and between Berlin and Chelm via Lodz and Warsaw. "This will directly connect a second border city with Ukraine," it said.
