The struggling streetcar manufacturer Heiterblick has lost an important order. Städtische Verkehrsbetriebe Zwickau (SVZ) have canceled their order and put it out to tender again. Specifically, the order is for six vehicles with an option for twelve more, as an SVZ spokeswoman reported on request.
"In various discussions, no agreement could be reached on the delivery date and no agreement on an economically viable solution for a continuation of the contract," is the reason given. In October, the company withdrew from the contract "due to risk considerations". This had previously been reported by MDR.
Heiterblick struggles to cut costs - short-time working
Heiterblick GmbH filed for insolvency in spring and is undergoing restructuring proceedings under self-administration. "Agreements have already been reached with many customers regarding the completion of existing orders," said a spokesperson. "These talks are still ongoing with individual customers." The company is being forced to reduce costs and increase revenues. "Employees have been on short-time working for several weeks."
