The Saxon Greens have called on farmers to protest peacefully in view of the blockades announced for this Monday. No one should be harmed, warned state party leader Christin Furtenbacher in Dresden on Sunday. "We expect a clear demarcation from anti-democratic groups in our own ranks, threats in social networks or the open propagation of plans to overthrow the government."
Although social protests are justified, a proportionality must be maintained that ensures the functioning of public life and allows bystanders to go about their daily business, Furtenbacher emphasized. "It is unacceptable to us if children cannot get to school safely and the sick or injured cannot rely on receiving medical care."
