For two years now, cyclists have been able to call the ADAC in the event of a breakdown. Whether it's a flat tire or a broken chain, the service is well used, according to the auto club.

In eastern Germany, the breakdown service for bicycles has been well received two years after its launch, according to the ADAC. According to an ADAC spokeswoman, 4,500 bicycle breakdown services have already been provided in the eastern German states since the service was launched in June 2022. "Successful in 96 percent of cases."

"We are very satisfied for the fact that we haven't had the service for so long and it has yet to establish itself," said the spokesperson. She can see how the service is becoming increasingly well-known and the number of uses is continuing to rise. However, there is still room for improvement. By way of comparison, the ADAC provides around 3.5 million breakdown services throughout Germany every year.

The ADAC has been offering bicycle breakdown assistance since June 2022. The automobile club explained that more and more members are switching to bicycles. This is a reaction to the rapid changes in mobility. Last year, the ADAC was called out to 15,680 bicycle breakdowns across Germany.
