A historic arch bridge has emerged from the shallow waters of the Lehnmühle Reservoir. However, the State Reservoir Administration is warning of dangers along the shore.

The low water level is currently offering an unusual view of the Lehnmühle Dam in the Eastern Ore Mountains. Due to the low water level, the historic arch bridge is visible again for the first time since 2019, according to the State Dam Administration (LTV). The agency also warned against entering the areas along the shore and the reservoir. It added that the stone bridge in the reservoir is no longer structurally sound and is at risk of collapsing.

The Lehnmühle Dam is part of the Klingenberg/Lehnmühle system and supplies raw water for the drinking water supply of the cities of Dresden and Freital. Currently, the reservoir’s storage level is only 51 percent of its target capacity, as a spokeswoman for the LTV stated in response to an inquiry.
