The DFB's ruling following the riots in the match between Dresden and Berlin remains in place. However, further action can still be taken against it.

The harsh punishments following the riots in the second division match between Dynamo Dresden and Hertha BSC Berlin remain in place. As announced by the German Football Association, the DFB sports court has rejected the Dresden team's appeal against the judgment of May 20. An appeal against the decision can be lodged with the DFB Federal Court within one week.

During Hertha's 1-0 win in Dresden on April 4, there was, among other things, massive use of pyrotechnics and rioting inside the stadium. The police had to intervene and the match was interrupted for a long time. Numerous people were injured.

Partial exclusion of spectators remains

As a result, Hertha was fined 152,000 euros and Dynamo must pay 91,200 euros. In addition, the fans will be partially barred from the next two Dynamo home matches. However, the second match will be suspended until the summer of 2027. In addition, both teams must develop a joint security concept for upcoming matches and reduce the number of visitors.

Dresden saw the partial exclusion of spectators as a collective punishment and had appealed against it. However, Saxony's arguments did not sway the sports court at the hearing: "The facts of the case did not change significantly for the sports court after taking evidence at the hearing. We don't want to see scenes like the one at this match in the stadium," said DFB Sports Court Chairman Stephan Oberholz.
