Plauen (dpa/sn)- In keeping with the "Artemis 2" mission, visitors to the German Space Exhibition Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz in Muldenhammer (Vogtland) can find out all about the moon. Among other things, there is a model of the SLS rocket that the astronauts used to travel to the moon, the museum announced. According to the information, visitors can also make moon flipbooks and watch a video about the mission.
"Mission Space" on display from 2027
The return to the moon will also be a theme in the new interactive exhibition "Mission Space" in the extension building, which will open in 2027, according to the statement. The exhibition team is working together with the European Space Agency (Esa), the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Freiberg Mining Academy, among others, on the show.
The Artemis II mission is expected to last around ten days. The last time US astronauts were on the moon was in 1972.
