An incident involving both sexual harassment and theft took place at Leipzig Central Station on Friday night. A 41-year-old woman was kissed against her will by a 43-year-old man at around 2 am. The woman only noticed later that items had been stolen from her rucksack.
After the incident, the victim immediately contacted the federal police stationed at the station. Thanks to her quick reaction, the alleged perpetrator was apprehended a short time later on the platform.
The 43-year-old is now being investigated for sexual harassment and theft. The Federal Police have launched further investigations to identify the stolen items and reconstruct the exact course of events. The incident once again sheds light on safety on public transport and in public spaces, especially late at night.
