This year it's once again Lights out, climate protection on. This year's Earth Hour will take place on March 23, 2024. The lights have been switched off for one hour every year in March since 2007. The aim is to draw attention to climate protection.
Where will the lights go out in Saxony?
A number of campaigns have already been planned and registered in Saxony. The lights will be switched off at the following buildings for #EarthHour:
- Dresden: Town Hall, Gläserne Manufaktur
- Thalheim / Erzgebirge: Town Hall
- Chemnitz: Illumination at Karl-Marx-Kopf
- Zwickau: Town Hall, St. Mary's Cathedral, Priest's Houses, West- and East-Westphalia. Marien cathedral, priests' houses, west and north sides of the Robert Schumann House, Robert Schumann monument, front of houses opposite the town hall, puppet theater, post mile column
- Plauen: Town Hall including tower
- Lößnitz: Hospital Church
- Leipzig: Alte Waage, Altes Rathaus, Anstrahlung City-Hochhaus, Goethedenkmal, Buntgarnwerke, Fahnengruppe Neues Rathaus, Geschäftshaus Nonnenmühlgasse, Gewandhaus, Höfe am Brühl, IHK-Gebäude, Kongresshalle am Zoo, Krochhochhaus, Marktbeleuchtung Salzgäßchen, Michaeliskirche, Museum der Bildenen Künste, Naturkundemuseum, Neues Rathaus, Nikolaikirche, Nonnenmühlgasse, Opera, Peterskirche, Reformierte Kirche, Schwanenteich, Stadtbibliothek, Thomaskirche, Wintergarten Hochhaus, Zoo
