Over the years, the Saxon city of Leipzig has developed into one of the most sought-after real estate locations. The Schleußig district in particular stands out with its high prices. Marpergerstrasse in Schleußig tops the rankings according to the latest publication by the real estate portal Immowelt, with an average price per square meter of around 4440 euros. Nearby Hüfferstraße and Pistoriusstraße are also among the top locations with prices of 4373 and 4133 euros per square meter respectively.
Compared to Dresden, where the most expensive district of Blasewitz, Wartburgstraße, charges 4653 euros per square meter, Leipzig is still slightly cheaper. Nevertheless, Schleußig in Leipzig has a particular appeal for property seekers, which is driving prices up.
These price trends illustrate that the high costs are concentrated in some popular districts. While Dresden is slightly more expensive overall with an average price of 2677 euros per square meter, Leipzig comes in at around 2453 euros. Despite these high prices, both cities are still affordable alternatives compared to metropolises such as Hamburg or Munich.
