Road closures are required around the 47th Leipzig Marathon on Sunday, April 13. The entire running course will be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and will be secured by helpers. The signage to secure the running course and the stopping restrictions will be set up from 5 a.m.
Details of the closure
The start and finish area for all participants will once again be located on the street "Am Sportforum" near the Arena Leipzig. This area will be closed to private traffic from 6:15 p.m. on the evening before, April 12, until 6 p.m. on April 14. The starting signal for the marathon participants will be given at 9:30 am and the half marathon runners will take to the course from 12:15 pm.

The 21-kilometre course: Straße Am Sportforum -> Jahnallee -> Friedrich-Ebert-Straße -> Karl-Tauchnitz-Straße -> Martin-Luther-Ring -> Roßplatz -> Augustusplatz -> Grimmaischer Steinweg -> Prager Straße -> An der Tabaksmühle -> Zwickauer Straße -> Richard-Lehmann-Straße (with turning point at Aral petrol station) -> Zwickauer Straße -> Semmelweisstraße -> Straße 18. Oktober -> Deutscher Platz -> Straße des 18. Oktober (with turning point) -> Semmelweisstraße -> Kurt-Eisner-Straße -> August-Bebel-Straße (with turning point) -> Kurt-Eisner-Straße -> Schleußiger Weg -> Rödelstraße -> Antonienstraße -> Erich-Zeigner-Allee -> Karl-Heine-Straße -> Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße -> Marschnerstraße -> Straße Am Sportforum (finish). This route will be run twice by the runners. Participants in the half marathon will complete one lap of the marathon course.
