Protest actions and effects

The SEV is planning central protest actions in Leipzig. These will take place on Thursday between 10.30 am and 12 noon at the corner of Floßplatz and Paul-Gruner-Straße. Verdi has also announced nationwide strikes in hospitals and care facilities, although this will affect Leipzig less as many medical facilities are privatized.

Outlook for Friday

A stronger turnout is expected on Friday. Verdi is calling on public sector employees to strike. Although some facilities will continue to operate as normal, the city plans to announce closures and reduced services.
