The steamboats on the Elbe are once again running low on water. With the exception of one route within the city limits, no trips are possible. The water level is rising only slightly.

The Elbe River in Dresden has dropped to a water level of just 53 centimeters. The normal level is 1.60 meters. According to forecasts from the State Flood Center, only a slight improvement is in sight. The water level is expected to reach 58 centimeters by next Monday.

The low water levels are once again affecting steamboat service. Although paddlewheel steamboats have a shallow draft, for the time being only one route within the Dresden city limits can be operated. All other routes are suspended, the company announced on its website.
