Apartment seekers in the East have more choice again

This is the situation in the federal states:

• Thuringia: Here, for example, classified ads recorded a whopping 18 percent increase in the number of rental apartments on offer. This was the most significant increase of all the federal states. Immoscout24, on the other hand, reported stagnating figures. The rents offered per square meter for existing apartments rose from an average of EUR 6.54 in the first quarter to EUR 6.65 in the third quarter.
• Saxony: Here, the increase in rental apartments offered in classified ads was lower than in Thuringia at 10 percent. Immoscout24, on the other hand, recorded a decline of around 9 percent. Existing rents here increased from EUR 6.57 to EUR 6.65.
• Saxony-Anhalt: Classified ads here reported 3 percent more rental apartments on offer than in October of the previous year. The increase on Immoscout24 was similarly high. Here, too, existing rents went up: from an average of EUR 6.32 to EUR 6.42 per square meter.
• Brandenburg: The picture on the platforms here is split. In October, 16 percent more apartments were listed in classified ads than in October 2024. On the Immoscout24 platform, on the other hand, the figures fell by around 5 percent. According to the platform, asking rents for existing apartments increased from EUR 8.77 to EUR 8.94.
• Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Here, classified ads recorded a 12 percent increase in the number of rental apartments on offer. Immoscout24 saw an increase of around 2 percent. Prices for rental apartments rose from 7.59 to 7.74 euros.
