Bus and rail services in the Vogtland region are subject to restrictions due to the wintry temperatures. "In order to avoid unplanned train cancellations, the Vogtlandbahn is introducing an operational winter timetable until further notice," announced the Länderbahn. The railcars used are more susceptible to disruptions in frosty temperatures, it said.
All regional trains on line 5, which run between Mehlteuer/Plauen and Falkenstein, will be canceled from Friday (January 9) until further notice, it said. The trains will be replaced by buses. Line 2 will operate according to the weekend timetable from Monday (January 12). This does not apply to school trains, it said. Canceled trains will also be replaced by buses. Travel times will be extended by a quarter of an hour on both lines.
