A 67-year-old participant in a classic car race in Riesa (Meißen district) has died in an accident. According to the Dresden police department, he was riding a motorcycle and collided with another motorcyclist (57) while overtaking. Both two-wheelers veered off the road to the right and came to rest on an embankment. One motorcycle caught fire.

Emergency services immediately attended to the two casualties, but the 67-year-old died of his serious injuries at the scene of the accident, it was reported. The other driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police are looking for witnesses who can provide information about the accident and in particular about the motorcyclists' driving behavior.
