A 74-year-old man in a wheelchair veered off the sidewalk onto a street in Freital-Hainsberg near Dresden and was struck by a car. He sustained serious injuries, according to the Dresden Police Department. The man was taken to the hospital. The damage was estimated at around 3,000 euros. It is still unclear why the wheelchair user ended up on the roadway. A 67-year-old man was behind the wheel of the car.
