That’s beyond question,” said the SPD politician. The plant in Zwickau-Mosel must not fall victim to across-the-board cuts. Panter described competition with other VW locations as fierce. “But then you also have to look at the numbers. And we can rightly claim that Mosel is the most productive and innovative site when it comes to vehicle production.” He wants to speak with the corporate leadership as soon as possible; contact has already been made, said the Social Democrat. “We believe that we can pull this off together, that we can reduce costs, and that the workforce is also very well equipped to do so.” They have also already sought to establish contact with the union. “Manager Magazin” had previously reported that the company intended to significantly intensify its cost-cutting measures.
