Rail travelers must be prepared for considerable delays

Train travelers had to prepare for delays, some of them considerable, on Wednesday due to a repair on an ICE line between Erfurt and Frankfurt am Main. Trains were initially diverted. There were delays of around 100 minutes, Deutsche Bahn announced on its service website on Wednesday. Stops in Fulda and Eisenach were canceled. ICE trains between Frankfurt and Erfurt, which are scheduled to stop in Bad Hersfeld and Gotha, are not affected. It could take until the evening hours before the disruption is resolved. A defective switch near Fulda had to be repaired, a railroad spokeswoman said.
