The cargo plane that crashed near the Lithuanian capital Vilnius was operated by the Spanish airline Swift Air. This was announced by the postal service provider DHL, for whom it was traveling. Swift Air was working under contract for DHL, it said. The plane was reportedly on its way from Leipzig to Vilnius. It had to make an emergency landing about one kilometer from the airport. The "status" of the crew is still being clarified, it said - "but our thoughts are with them and their loved ones".
