Police forces want to check a van in Dresden's Neustadt district in the evening - but the driver flees all the way to Pillnitz Palace Park. There the police discover the possible reason.

A driver of a van fled from a police checkpoint in Dresden, hitting two cars and slightly injuring one person. According to police reports, the police chase with the 42-year-old driver led from Eisenbahnstraße (Dresden-Neustadt) to Pillnitz Palace Park.

The driver collided with a patrol car on the way, but the man continued his escape. He then crossed a traffic light on red and collided with a second car. The 26-year-old driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 42-year-old's van only came to a halt on the banks of the Elbe. The man initially fled on foot, but police officers stopped him. During the check, they discovered that he did not have a driver's license. There was also a suspicion of drug use. He is now being investigated for several traffic violations.
