After a long dry spell, the Elbe is rising again: At the Strombrücke bridge in Magdeburg, the water level has risen by 20 centimeters.

After reaching historically low levels, the water level on the Elbe is rising significantly again. According to data from the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration, water levels in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt have risen by as much as 17 to 25 centimeters since Friday. 

While, for example, the Elbe had reached a low of 34 centimeters at the Strombrücke bridge in Magdeburg on Tuesday, the water level stood at 54 centimeters on Saturday. In Torgau, Saxony, the water level rose again from 32 centimeters to 63 centimeters.
